Sometimes it is just not possible to get to a course run in a local church. It might be you need a daytime one and for the moment there isn’t one near or maybe you can only get out on a Wednesday and everyone is offering different evenings. Maybe you need a Saturday and can’t find a course running then. Well there is an option. (By the way, incase you can make it – our next one is on Sunday evenings – have a look here.)
The nature of the Alpha Course means it works at its best in a group – you can swap ideas, ask questions and most importantly – explore. The reason the Alpha Course helps people is because you can explore – bash your ideas around with others having had some input beforehand to help resource the conversation.
So it isn’t about ‘doing a course’. But if it is really impossible for you to get together with others then there is an interim option.
When Alpha was being offered for university students, it became apparent the original ten week course and an optional weekend away wouldn’t fit into a University term. So the material was squeezed into 7 weeks with a day away. The content is the same and they have put it all online.
If you want to watch the course, here is the link from the launch party where you get an opportunity to see if the course might suit, then the 7 weeks of the course and the day away material on the Holy Spirit. But a recommendation – watch them in order as each builds on the other.
And if you can – do join a course with others as the experience in a group just cannot be matched at home.
We really do pray that if you find you need to explore in this way initially that you will be blessed as you watch the videos and that you find the way, truth – and life.

The second set of materials are the initial discussion notes for new (or existing groups getting ready to evolve) small groups to help them discover their new way forward to suit their own mix of folk and local networks.

AMBLES AND RAMBLES
We have a regular programme of “Ambles”, led walks – pleasant strolls in beautiful places. Some can be little more demanding, “Rambles”, that might, for instance, be on a part of the moor. They are led by one of our Readers who is also an experienced walk leader. They leave from St Jude’s Church Car Park with shared cars. For details of the forthcoming programme, click here.
CREATE
If you enjoy being creative this group that meets one Saturday a month is for you! Come along and see what is being demonstrated and have a go, or bring any projects you are currently working on. We are keen to enable the group to develop their own ideas and bring their own skills and experiences along. We love to see and share what others do and to learn from them.
